Questions

How long does the assessment take?

The actual assessment takes up to two hours.  Prior to this we ask you to complete a lot of pre-assessment forms to determine the need for an assessment.

After this we set a suitable time and date for the assessment.

What happens then?

Once we have completed the assessment we then make sure you have a full report, including the diagnositc results and assessment results.

These can be shown to your employer or whoever needs to see them.

What about my GP?

Your GP may or may not accept the diagnosis, this is mainly due to the prescribing of medication.

We discuss this with you.

What if I need Medication?

We discuss this with you fully.  We have a private prescriber that we can refer you to.   They will accept the diagnosis we provide and then they deal with the medication.

In regards to medication, it is safe to say that the NHS will not provide this until you have gone through 'tritation'.  This is the phase where the correct medication is determined and trialled.

After this then you can speak to the prescriber about 'Shared Care', where the NHS takes over the medication.

What if I don't want Medication?

We discuss this with you and talk to you about the talking therapies that work with ADHD and what they can help you with.
